We are a European Political Start-up.
Yes, that's new.
A new political party being launched in several European countries at the same time, that will speak with one voice on all major issues. START will be run like a “start-up”: new, bold ideas, independent funding and participatory management that prioritises digital communication to reach the largest possible audience.
Why?
For the last 30 years, the same leaders from the left and the right have followed on each other’s heels, disappointing us more and more, with abstention often the most popular party in Europe, debt increasing in many countries, unemployment proving hard to control, purchasing power diminishing or only vary rarely improving, the major inequalities widening, the planet’s environmental balance under threat and the risk of terrorism escalating. More and more Europeans are finding it hard to believe in their politicians, and in Europe. So they turn to the populist or extremist parties....
We no longer have a choice: we must reinvent European politics, bring it back to life..
So, we are launching START>. To do what?
To bring new inspiration to politics. So that we can be proud of our countries and of Europe once more. So that we can go to the polls to vote FOR something or someone, instead of always voting against, or not at all...
To create a party based on the right values, that will always determine our direction, and that will take precedence over the individuals who represent them. General Interest, Exemplarity, Authority, Competence, Power to the people, Diversity, Secularism, Environment, Solidarity economy... START will fight corruption, cronyism, nepotism, the professionalisation of politics, multiple mandates, renouncement, mediocrity, incompetence, world privatisation, lobbies, and more.
To put forward a different view of the world and of the major battles this generation has to fight: the struggle for women’s rights, the war to save the planet, the fight against the great inequalities, the need to restore a stronger and more streamlined State, the importance of Europe, the opportunity presented by Africa and the huge challenge of adapting education systems to the world of the future.
Finally,
to bring together men and women in every
European country who share these values and this vision of the World, and to identify the talented who will represent START in the next European elections. To do this we will apply the principles of competence, diversity in representation, exemplarity, fighting corruption and non-professionalisation of politics.
Our ambition? Our objectives?
We want to change Europe and the world. Our ambition, our motivation, and our determination are immense; we feel very strongly that we no longer have any other choice than to create something new.
We are building our party in Europe. Our first major electoral target will of course be the European elections in 2019.
In the short term, we will apply ourselves steadfastly to developing our proposals and our team. We need all the strength of every Nation to build, finally, a strong, fair Europe of Nations.
